At around 1:20 p.m. on the 9th, two trucks and two buses collided one after another on the Yangpyeong-direction road near Yeoju Junction on the Jungbu Inland Highway in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province.

In the accident, the driver of the 5t truck, Mr. A, in his 50s, was seriously injured and taken to a hospital in cardiac arrest, but eventually died. In the other two buses, 20 high school students were taken to the hospital for treatment after complaining of pain from minor injuries.

It is understood that 73 people, including 69 students and four teachers from a high school in Seoul, were traveling on the two buses on a school trip.

It was investigated that the accident started when Mr. A’s truck hit the back of a 15-ton truck in front of him while traveling on the second lane. The impact of the accident then pushed the cars back, leading to a quadruple pileup with two buses ahead.
